In the United States, according to FDA regulations, glasses and contacts require a valid prescription. VERAI provides eligible users a prescription from a certified doctor in their state.
VERAI’s vision tests have undergone rigorous clinical trials that proved that they are as accurate as traditional measurement methods. In many cases, patients even achieved better vision with the results from VERAI than with traditional methods.
The test itself is quite simple. When looking through the device, the phone will present a red and a green line. By pressing clear buttons on your phone you are asked to overlap the lines. That is all.
The test is comprised of repeating this process multiple times until the AI learns your vision.
EyeQue’s technology is based on a well established, 400 year old measurement, that is at the base of every such measurement today. An adaptation to use a smartphone has been invented by MIT scientists and is exclusively licensed to EyeQue. Furthermore, EyeQue developed the technology with over 30 new patents.
In simple terms, when light from the phone goes through EyeQue’s optical devices, it projects an image on the retina that depends on the vision parameters of the user. When the user provides feedback through our easy to use apps, our AI learns and calculates these parameters to find the best vision correction specifically for the user.

VERAI is intended primarily for measuring the numbers needed for glasses. Nevertheless, it can also be used to provide contact prescriptions as long as a new fitting is not required. That is, if you already have a previous contact lens prescription, VERAI can be used to update it, if eligibility is established.
This depends on the doctor’s discretion, but normally, glasses prescriptions are valid for 2 years.
